Nokia 2610 review

I've tested a Nokia 2610 that i originally bought for it's java MIDP 2.0 capabilities. Everything works just fine except for the java outside connections. Opera mini does not work, ssh java apps do'nt work... it even gives me errors of : "invalid application" if i try to install anything on it (that was downloaded from the default web browser that uses wap and that works (but also sucks)). It does not have socket support (you can't connect to anything from the mobile , using a application in java to the outside world using the wap or GPRS). I called Nokia USA and they said that too. So I sold it with the thought in mind that a phone that would support what i need would be too expensive if i buy it at it's full price and the only worthy telephone would be one that supports Symbian or Windows Mobile, and of course OSX (iPhone).. but that are too expensive for what i want to do with such a phone (IM, browse with a good browser, develop and test socket-connection based apps in java).. Further more.. it has some kind of rear cable for data transfer that i did not find in any store.
But i did manage to change som jad files and make some games work on the mobile (space invaders and bomberman)... and i deleted the old ones (that sucked very bad).... eg: coin flipping .
Has some poor support for mms, has todo list app , calendar, timer, calculator... (usual partially-usefull stuff) but the great thing about it is: 7 days of battery life.
That's pretty much it ;).
So I sold the phone and i'm left with nothing now... Hopefully i would re-think when the iphone 3G comes out in July...
